I remember that pass ride in your old motor Graham, superb fun, never laughed so much in a car.

I want one at some point but not now. No time to scratch my balls never mind drive a 3rd car

Nice one!

Series looks quite good too - throw the SR2 into it!

Comes with flat shift I believe!

Graham was it Mag 7s you and Jo did before?

I agree on it being a really good gauge of your ability. The S is great fun but it's not a level playing field!

Racing a level playing field?!?!

It's never a level playing field.

There will be cars in your class without a sequential, let alone a flatshift. And there will be identical cars to yours that somehow weigh 30kg less and make 185bhp for 30% of the rev range.

Some cars are more equal that others

Yup i'm aware of that Ron! The Mag 7s is open to quite a few different types of these type of cars, and tyre regs are open.

I meant the Caterham series itself. Seems to be tightly regulated. Although they have for next year introduced an H pattern class to get the numbers up. All cars currently are sequentials.

Yeah, I read the regs I'd like to get the SR2 in on the action.

You'd go Class D I take it? Whoever has the bike engined car will win as they'll be at least 60kg lighter with a rear biased weight distribution. And it'd be the 08-09 CBR1000RR engine that they'll have, not the Busa The winner will be in a CBR1000RR powered Raw Striker as it'd be weighing in at under 400kg

You'd be better off throwing some cams on the Duratec and moving into class E as there aren't any BECs or a 185bhp limit.

Cams would mean it wouldnt be eligible for Caterham series. You have to be careful not to isolate yourself when you modify a race car.

The same applies to the S, I had to be careful what I did with it, as the VTEC regs are very open but the CSCC series doesn't allow aero or engine swaps, for example.

Note though that the CSCC series (incl 7s) there are handicaps / penalties placed on the race winner for the next race, to even things out.

Winners penalty
The outright race winner of group 1 (not class winners) will start their next race from the pit lane. This penalty will only be applied for one race or until that person wins another race outright. If the winner is unable to compete in the following race then when they will start from the pit lane behind the last race winner(s) next time they race in date order.
