Default TomTom Maps

My sister has a TomTom One 3rd Edition that I want to borrow for a trip to Australia.

The website says you can buy a map for Australia. Does the TomTom contain multiple maps? Or do I need to back up the UK map before installing the Australia map?
I've neaver used one before and dont want to loose the current UK map when installing the Australia map.

Thanks
Alan

You'll probably have to do so, or buy a bigger memory card.

You have tpo download TT home to do so.

Unfortunately their webshite was clearly designed by a bunch of dutch junkies and it's perfectly counter-intuitive.

Just get another SD card and put the Australia maps on there, then put the UK one back in when you get back.

Apparently it doenst have a card slot as its only a basic one. Its got 512mb inside it. The TomTom page says the Australian map is 122mb.

I've had two TT Ones, my current is a 3rd edition, both had SD slots.
I bought a bigger card and add the maps, voices, POI's that I wanted

depends how big the current files are that are on the tt.
theres no software limitaion on having 2 maps on 1 device - it's simply select which map you want to use form the menu.
free space is the issue.

imo you should have enough on the 512mb memory. doesnt to TT software tell you how much space you have used and whats free?

but TT don't leave much spare space on the SD card provided with the unit. Hence my suggestion.

IIRC, there is now a limitation that only allows one to use one copy of the OS, so you'd have to put both maps on the one card.

But I prefer my Snooper S2000 anyway!
