Yep, a good set - does have everything really you'd need.

Although, get yourself a decent set of molegrips and a nice hammer

The Snap On dealer who visits says its bollox about them making
for Halfrauds. Blue Point and Par X are the only ones I know about.

I use Snap On every day and yes the Halfords ones are pretty close.
Should last a lifetime for DIY use. I broke a few ratchet spanners I
borrowed a few times though, but easy replaced in store.

Some of the halfords tools do break. But buy that halfords kit and replace anything you do break with good quality stuff and you'll have saved yourself a good bit of money.

The bulk of that halfords kit you'll rarely use, but its worth having for the odd occasion you do need it.

Snap on are rediclously overpriced - bit like the Mugen of the tool word.

I have managed to break a few tools in my time, but all of them have been doing silly jobs with them as per below:

I was trying to get a crank bolt off the other day. Using a breaker bar, some halford extensions (from that very kit) and a generic impact socket.

Oh and a 4ft bar.

I weight about 180lbs

The bar was 5ft long in total.

900lbs/ft of torque then and those extensions took it, despite the breaker bar bending like it was made from plastic!

!
For home maybe, though I have a good Snap On range AT home I also
have a huge three tier chest at work. Without it I couldn't do my job
properly. Its expensive for good reason. Day in day out it delivers.

Only MAC comes close.

I've had Snap On since being an apprentice and most of the time I
work on HGV. I have never snapped a spanner or socket! Or know
anyone who has.

Probably because you use them as intended!

Besides, i'm not saying they aren't good. Lets face it, they are probably the best.

Just saying they they are overpriced.

Still, in your line of work, your tools are your trade so it makes sense to invest
