The white Exige S presses all the buttons for me - looked good. Too bad my local dealer is miles away It was amazing that JC fitted into it TBH - it was amusing to see hime crawl out

Well I enjoyed it you miserable gits! ;-)

Its pure entertainment which is enjoyable. Its actually sometimes quite nice to sit down and just laugh for an hour rather than watch some guy in an Anorak talking about pistons and engine displacement..........its more fun to find out if its actually cool in peoples opinions!

Its not a serious car show but I would sure as hell love to present it as it looks like the best/most fun job in the world - and thats the whole point!

Relax you grumpy old men!! - If you want serious stuff buy a car book!!

It's entertainment and as such it works.

Kate will sit and watch TG, she goes and does something else when 5th Gear is on.
To be honest, sometimes so do I, especially whan they do a 'crash 2 cars into each other and show it from 20 angles to justify the expense' and 'Massage Platos Ego' segments (WTF were they doing wasting a whole show on a bunch of bimbos with no interest in cars being driven round Silverstone by the ego himself) or taking 2 unsuitable cars round Anglesey 'lets see which is the most unsuitable to take on track'. A TV programme can't hope to tell a real enthusiast much about cars, there isn't enough time unless you dedicate the whole hour to one car - and most people would switch off. So you might as well make it entertaining, which TG does admirably.
I laughed out loud at the 'Damper Van' and the other week at the Espcae convertible. They're doing stuff most of us would love to get up to and showing it on TV. If I want to know all about a particular car, or I need in-depth analysis about something, I read up on it or take a test drive. I know TV shows can't dedicate the time you need for the details, so they may as well entertain me.

At least it's not 'Vroom Vroom'

Let's face it. An hour of detailed discussion about the latest in common rail diesels or seatbelt tensioners isn't going to captivate.

I really enjoyed it last night. The segment with the boats was funniest thing I'd seen in a long time.

As I'm not into nuts and bolts so much, I find the show format perfectly acceptable. Good light entertainment around a subject I'm interested in. Formula works for me.

They are looking to get their viewing figures up by appealing to more demographics. I reckon they're doing ok

The white Exige S looked fantastic, so chuckable. The Stig really threw it round the track
The Exige S is fantastic to drive as well...

I test drove one before buying my S and it was awesome, even in the wet - My test drive was with one of Lotus' driving instructors and he showed me what the car really is able to do - phenominal grip even in the wet.

Unfortunately I couldn't justify the price tag...

I think the S is ultimately a lot more liveable as a daily driver.

I think its great entertainment and has created its own niche. there are more than enough informative, if boring, car programs and reviews in the press if you want to know about the latest car.

long may it last

i laughed my gnuts off at the carboat bit.. hamster's was utter pap

ok this week there wasn't much content as they'd concentrated on that very funny bit but it was worthwhile..

Fifth gear with girls aloud was funny too though.. but the massive ego of plato and that other bloke, forget his name but he really gives me the needle , spoil it.

Plato can certainly drive but they should turn him into a Stig - i.e. no chitchat.

I like the head to head stuff.. the exige one was funny cos even clarkson could beat le stig in a car with twice the power or whatever.. it looked untidy on the lap though, lots of understeer too. i'd still have one though..

Well I've not seen 'Vroom vroom' so I can't comment on that but TG could be worse, it could be an F12 grand prix to watch for example.
