Those last two posts look like you're discussing WW2 bombers and crew rather than cars.
and bombing Germany and Japan is a particular interest of mine
we should have a thread about it

Mark - I was asking a serious question
you see, EVO took a GTR to Wales and Italy iirc - what suspension did that have
because they certainly aren't the same type of roads
for me the GTR is all about what it can do
it looks no different to a chavvy(?) evo or scoobydo really. a big, aggressively styled lump that goes incredibly, unbelievably well for £50k
the yank tank that beat it was a £100k plus thing and a deathtrap to anyone without proper talent apparently.
i saw one at our sainsbury local the other day, big car, lots of presence with massive wheels and brakes. it's own mass fights against it i think, it's going to be expensive to run for that reason, it needs fantastic brakes, great suspension and loads of grunt

Having been in one around Spa, I can confidently say it was fooking fast, gripped like buggery and the brakes hauled it down very well.
It was laugh out loud fast.
Pete, not sure re Evo. When was it? It's not something to get too excited about though. They just tweaked UK cars a bit to suit our roads. As other Jap manufacturers have done in the past (Prodrive did this on things like the 22B / P1 and RB5 cars)
The JDM test car I went in was rock hard, even in comfort mode and made it a bit skippy on some of our broken surfaces.

they deserve the plaudits they got for creating that car for the price they've done. i know in a recent evo they ran it back to back with an Evora. Incredible that the Evora is more ££, especially the stupidly specced first production run examples (anyone know if they're actually selling any?)
Not sure, we can only hope that the reviews boost sales or it may hinder the new Esprit. They definately screwed up on the pricing though.
I heard they make more £££ from their engineering services though!

I still love these cars, and I understand why the force is strong with this one Mark
Chatting to a guy online the other day and he thinks you can pick up a second hand import for 35k. I doubt that tbh as the cheapest Jap import I've seen has been for 42k.
Like you said it's not worthwhile buying an import now as they are available in the UK, and the spec is a bit lower. Toyota did something similar with the mk4 Supra. The UKDM version had a lot more kit on it

I expect your hand would be bitten off if you offered £38K cash
I'm not sure why anyone would think the prices will defy depreciation
very expensive running costs and some evidence of fragility ALREADY
the world has changed - regardless of what might have happened in the past, these cars will take a hit
I'm confident you'll get a UK car for £35K in a year from now
that'll be something of a performance bargain, but for some of us, performance isn't everything
for those that it is -
