It's concern about being hit up the arse/looking like a dozy cunt that is irritating to stressful, rather than dangerous per se.

Chippo's new car is only really a few months old. Probably a year as tempus fugit. Unfortunately, it seems to be reinforcing all of my prejudices, from the above report.

Biggest piece of advice I can give is to document occurrences, reports to dealers, phone calls to Audi customer relations. Anything done already try and remember as accurately as possible.

Keep pushing. Particularly if you can't demonstrate it the dealer and Audi will be sceptical.

Keep in mind some customers are morons. I've dealt with delayed throttle response (actually customer didn't know how to clutch control), engine lacking power (the guy bought a big car with a small engine then couldn't work out why it struggled to accelerate up hill with 5 up) and engines with "dangerous" flat spots (5 cars all had it, he didn't know about torque converters and characteristics of kick down......anyone who's driven an auto box knows the same feeling). You may not be but the dealer has to sift and sort

Car is a 13 plate we have had it since new it's on 13k miles at 7 months old
All mail is logged and recorded
It is dangerous full stop , there is a very real difference between operator error I.e. Stalling and. The car failing to carry out a prescribed inbuilt function that then puts you the driver and the car occupants at risk from the failings of other drivers . I am only in this situation as a result of the failure of the Audi system , their failure to resolve the issue , making them liable , the fault has been reported to them they have failed in all respects to deal with it. My only cause of action to mitigate these circumstances is to turn it off , which now means I do not have what I paid for , but a substandard under spec product . The liability remains with Audi
My last dealings with a dealer just proves their lack of product knowledge , they can't. Even read the car handbook. To know how to operate the system in normal use
The whole issue is laughable , never again will I darken the doors of a VAG product , but they will survive they have a fanatical fan base of acolytes that will brook no criticism what so ever . Of course there do seem to be lots of other issues with the car lots of FSI engine failures , rust , soft ware issues , rattles , DSG box issues , and the general poor showing in reliability studies .
Had problems with Hondas but resolved , had huge problems with LR but all Resolved and the vehicle purchased back at full book value after 4 years, all in all a far better customer service , and then the Audi warranty by today,s standards is poor 60 k miles ! 3 years clearly they have a lack of faith in their build quality .
Oh they can't even sort out a coin slot , it's to dam small on a RH car to hold a £1 coin , even thought the slot is specific to RH cars

Sounds like you attract problem cars. I've had loads and never needed one buying from me by the manufacturer at 4 years in.

You wouldn't believe what a total bucket of crap the LR was , turned out to be a cracking deal really in the end and as I said the dealer and Manufacturer support was excellent , they never quibbled about a thing and did every thing possible including on one occasion flowers for the wife .

Could you not work out it was broken on yr one? Seems a bit extreme getting a buy back at a point when some cars might be end of life

How many times has the start-stop problem manifested itself?

Carper, at the time money was tight and really couldn't get into the buying and selling of cars , then wife was a typical 4 x 4 drivers and loved the power over mere shopping trolley drivers it gave her despite its faults and LR kept extending the OEM warranty a year at a time out until 4 years , if they hadn't the car would have gone for sure. And as i said the customer service experience was exemplary.

For humping around 3 kids a dog and all the attendant junk it was perfect , and i used it for work occasionally towing a trailer and humping around 1000kg of 25kg test weights

So there were reasons for sticking with it.

That's the only reason LR is still here; a lot of buyers really LOVE the utility of the product, despite the average scrap heap demonstrating better BQ.

You do nt see hardly any LR products in Australia where you need a dependable car , it's all Toyota Landcruisers and Nissan Patrols .
Fluffy , it's rather random , today in the West end about 4 or 5 times , some days not at all other days numerous times. But Sod's law says never in the presence of any Audi employees which seems to be the deal maker !
