Has anyone had any experiences with trackers on their car - good or bad?

I use them at work on the commercial fleet but was contemplating an individual one to help reduce insurance costs and obviously to recover it should anything untoward happen!

 

Can't you just sneak your car on to the company system??

 

I have one and I don't think I have ever had an insurance discount as a result

No idea if it is good or not as nobody has yet stolen my car

 

Had mine for 5 years and it has never once reduced an insurance premium.
If that is your main motivation then I would advise you not to bother.

Although it means there are more insurers t choose from on high value cars (of which the Honda isn't one).

Tracker were pish poor - can't be arsed to expand.

 

I had one fitted on the new car and was given a discount of some 10 per cent via the Post Office. Some insurers were declining to quote without a system although they seem to accept the standard Honda alarm an immobilizer as sufficient.

 

I have had insurance companies not quote because there was no tracker.

It was more to do with the fact that I wouldn't like to lose this car but an insurance discount would be a definite benefit.

Unfortunately at work we use Minorplant, which has improved since first installed but wouldn't rely on it to find a vehicle!

 

I too struggle for a good quote without one in my Elise.

But seeing as your car is white who the fk's going to nick
it anyway?
