Thanks MartS2k

I dont think he wanted to be insulting, think it was more tongue in cheek.

Just wanted to point out that it wasnt me not been bothered about my spelling, it was just that I cant be bothered to copy and paste everything I write on the forum to and from word documents to check my spelling as I have to with all important texts.

Use Firefox as it has a spell checker built, just make sure you get the UK English dictionary add on.

Ok a few weeks on now from first testing V-Power and the engine is quieter now.

The MPG's are about the same or slightly better maybe hard to tell, have been on the motorway a bit more again recently.

Power, to be honest cant feel any more or less power.

And emissons down from 0.81 to 0.57 (limit on MOT is 1.50).... fairly big difference there, can actually see the difference as well when flooring the car at night with a following car with headlights on, no longer do you see the cloud in your rear view mirror.

Is it worth keep running it.... not sure....

There's an article in this month's Which about this for the BP version. Basically don't bother - in fact performance and economy was slightly worse. Apparently the cetane in the standard diesel wasn't far off the super-duper version.

I read the artical... and the critisism to the artical.

I have also read in other areas that Tesco 99 was better then most petrols.... and in this artical its doesnt rate it at all if I remember correctly.

Different cars, different tests.

The only thing I am inpressed with is the drop in smoke emission from the diesel that must be due to using vpower.

Interested in the criticism Rob, is it on the net, if so do you have a link?

I do wonder if a car like my Beemer that's making 200bhp might gain more, just like, unsurprisingly, the Golf in the test got more gains than the bottom of the range Focus on petrol...

Not diesel, I know, but...

I used to swear by V-Power petrol in all my previous cars (from the Celica, through S2000 & ASBO) but recently tried Tesco 99 in the Bimmer.

Much smoother power delivery and a lot quieter too. Not sure about additional power or mpg. But at a similar cost to 'regular' Shell or BP fuel, I certainly can't moan!

Use it all the time now.
