Default Vauxhall Monaro

More curious than anything else.

I really like the look of these

I realise they are going to be heavy on juice but is it worth it ?

Which model the 5.7 or the 6.0 ?

Anyone own or have experience of driving one of these monsters ?

How do they handle?

Cheers Andy

Bigger the better - get the VXR monster!

Someone round my way has one with an exhaust system on it, and I have never ever heard anything sound so evil!

Sounds sublime...

Holy crap - 800 bhp and a sub in the boot!

THis one must have the world's biggest supercharger on it

PS - look on YouTube for the 5th Gear review of the VXR, its very amusing!

Hi Andy,

Yes I have drven one, and my family at home in NZ, still own one.

These cars are raced in OZ & NZ, there are loads of tunig bits available.

In NZ and OZ the cars are called Holden Commodore's. Word of advice careful if your thinking of buying one of these in the UK, as one of the models been sold in the UK, has been discontinued in both NZ and OZ.

Check out the web site http://www.autotrader.co.nz/

Also convert the pricing, from pounds to dollars (OZ or NZ) you'll get a shock how cheap the are there, than they are been sold for in the UK

depreciate like a stone

way too many squeaks and rattles for me (only driven one though)

more chav than a Skyline

they sound great - but so does a V8 Land Rover with a decent exhaust

I can't see why anyone would buy one over an E39 M5

which is still cheaper and a much nicer thing to drive

can't be the badge can it?

Because if I bought a BWM I'd have to park it round the corner, take the baliclava off and walk home?

Whereas if you bought a Vauxhall

You'd have to move to a council estate?

Tough call......
