That's the bit that pisses me off so much. Fair enough they want to dissuade people from buying new fuel inefficient cars. But how does increasing tax on cars people already own reduce emissions in any way AT ALL.

Just found that my mate wrote to the Chancellor about this as he drives a C32 AMG and he wasn't happy about the rise.

He also got a reply too, saying that they looked at all the options possible and with the current state of the environment this was the best solution they had!

The answer is simple, drive everywhere in the V-TEC rev range and get full value for money out of the new tax system... actually this is flawed as well as I'd be filling up every other day...doh. Back to the drawing board!
