if you think that's crazy, check out the 1st year depreciation on the SL65: 60,000 bucks

Yeah, their insurance cost is about three times what I pay. They must be paying a pretty high interest rate, because the finance costs are a lot higher than I've ever had to pay. Depreciation seems a little high, too. Maintenance may not be too far off if you take into account tires and stuff.

i dont think it is that high....considering i pay $30 dollars a week in gas...so over a five year period i have payed like 45000 for financing and gas....that leaves like 8-9k over 5 years just for insurance and maintenance...i think that seems very reasonable...

it does seem high, but not when you start comparing it to other cars

350Z is comparable
Z4 is higher (unsurprisingly)

Nope, not high. Compare it's TCO to other cars, and you'll see that it's quite reasonable.

Audi TT, Merc SLK, 350Z: $3500 to $14,475 more.

Solstice, Miata, PT Cruiser, MINI, New Beetle: All about $10k less.

G35, GTO, CLK, 3 series: All more expensive

Mustang GT, Charger, GTO, 350Z, RX-8: All very similar

How come insurance rates increase per year? Counting for inflation? But shouldn't older cars also have cheaper insurance?
