Default VTEC Challenge Series

After weeks of planning, the 'Vtec Challenge' promotional day at Thruxton was finally upon us. All 14 cars that had showed interest in attending were there as promised......now thats commitment for you!! Possibly one of the biggest gatherings of Honda race cars in the UK??

The idea for the day was to get footage for a Vtec Challenge promotion video as well as lots of stills shots for magazine features. Whilst not a full track day we had plenty of use of the track and many thanks to Thruxton for enabling us to get this together.

The video footage was covered by Dave C from Reelmotion who will be involved with further video/tv footage of the series, and the photo side of things being covered by Rich Sams (Time Attack photographer) and Gill from Hertford Tyres.

The standard of cars on the day was very impressive, ranging from the 2 Ex-BTCC Civics courtesy of 'RedBrickRacing', down to the little barking CRX that had me grinning for most of the day. If yesterdays grid was anything to go by, 2011 should be a fantastic season for the Vtec Challenge from both a drivers and spectators point of view.

A massive thanks goes out to all those that attended and helped to make the day a great success. The atmosphere was very friendly, pretty much what you would expect from a group of Honda enthausiaists really.

All details about the series can be found at www.vtecchallenge.co.uk and if your interested by what you see, then come and join the forum and introduce yourself.

Heres a few great Pics from Rich Sams, and we will upload the Promo Video once its edited.

Enjoy

The BTCC cars will be in the Tuner class so wont be competing against the other regular cars. Saying that, their engines will be standard K20A2s and the tuner class just allows for wide track and suspension changes which arent allowed in classes A, B C and D.

Here is the first of the promo videos for the 2011 Honda VTEC CHallenge Race series which was prepared to help promote the series.

This one was mainly shot for Autosport (now on) - as Yokohama (our main sponsor) had it playing on loop on their stand.

Unfortunately no S2Ks were there on the day but Ben at HEL is prepping a car for the series and we (r-motion) are also planning on developing an S2k for it as well.

Thanks to everyone who took part (was a cold day at Thruxton!).

Enjoy!

the HEL car wont be accepted due to the rules not allowing forced induction tho,

or are they now allowing forced induction? if so my mate is interested in entering his b20 turbo eg.

i was looking at building a dc2 for the series but if i fit a cusco cage to my S next year i will think of entering a catergory as im going to watch this year to see what its like.

Only a couple of hours to swap an S2K engine. Dual map ECU, away you go!

Had a great day at the VTEC challenge first weekend, up at Silverstone today, it's brilliant to see an all Honda series like this, and is real grass roots racing.

I took quite a few pics, but they will be nowhere near as good as those above!! Public album on FB: http://www.facebook....18&id=596164256

I'll be sure to be attending some more races in the future.
