VTEC Challenge Series
Unfortunately didnt make it as planned but sounds like a good weekend was had by all. Just spoke to CBH who came 3rd in race 1 where he had to change gear with the rod after 3rd gear linkage broke, and finished 3rd overall, blooded hand to show the effort that'd gone in! He then came 2nd in race 2....

Had a great day at the VTEC challenge first weekend, up at Silverstone today, it's brilliant to see an all Honda series like this, and is real grass roots racing.
I took quite a few pics, but they will be nowhere near as good as those above!! Public album on FB: http://www.facebook....18&id=596164256
I'll be sure to be attending some more races in the future.

It was nice to see them there at the same race meet as the Caterhams. The Orange BTCC graphic'ed (or even ex) Civics certainly caught the eye.

The fact he won was because his car had at least 70bhp more than the ex-BTCC Civic.
Shocking really, but it was all down to power.

It usually is - there's only so much you can do to equalise a field of cars, especially when you have such a small entry, if you segregate too much, you end up with single car classes. It highlights the problem with starting another niche club series in an already crowded marketplace, there are lots of series to choose from already and if drivers don't feel they get a decent race, they'll go to a series that will give them that.
It's one of the reasons Rich and I chose the Northern Saloon series - full grids every race so there's always plenty of people in each class, subsequently the classes can be narrowly defined and quite tightly controlled. With the best will in the world, a dozen or so cars on the grid can't give you the flexibility to ensure equal racing and you have to really want to race against other Hondas exclusively to enter this series over say CSCC Tin Tops or the Trackday Trophy.
I would have thought the first thing anyone would have done when entering a race series would be to study the technical regulations and then bulid a car to fit within them.....down to the min weight for the class and with the maximum power for the engine used? Richy seems to have achieved just that with his Integra
