Default Weather driving conditions

I am bringing my S over to the UK from Jersey on this coming Friday morning (6.30am arrival!) and will then head off on a driving trip to Cardiff, all the way round the Welsh coast, up to Cartmel in the Lake District and then down the motorway back to the south coast to return home a week on Sunday. It should be a lovely trip were it not for the forecast of freakish icy weather combined with a car with a history of trying to kill me!

To top matters off, I am having a new roof fitted at Jack Smith's and new RE002 front tyres in Cardiff because the current ones (old S02s) are a million miles from brilliant in the wet, let alone the snow and ice! Should I survive the trip I will report back on each in the relevant threads.

The forecast does seem to suggest that the cold and snow will ease off as I make my way further north after Easter.

So, what are people's current experience of road conditions on the west-side of the UK and how worries should I be? I will not be offended if someone wants to start a book on my chances of survival - put me down for a tenner on 'will not die but probably feature in 3 vehicle RTA which makes local news media'.

No idea about the weather up that way, but a trip to Holker Hall Car Museum is a must if you're up that way.

No snow up Anglesey. Just a 2 day bike trackday Sunday and Monday to watch (assuming the rgv in your name is a 250 smoker)

Yep, although in truth she hasn't smoked for a few years as the bottom end of her engine is on my work bench and the top end (flowed with new billet heads and powervalves) is currently sat under my desk at the office... one day!

I travel between notts and london, theres no disruption now, its warmer and most of the snow is long gone. I have my winters on but theyre not really needed atm, its dry.

Good luck. If you go to wales you will die
