Then the same base goes all the way up to a full-on Le Mans winning track car

At which point the twisting of the engine becomes a factor (I *am* guessing here!)
I would think somewhere between the road car and the race car, along with a few other bits and bobs, the engine mounts get replaced

Yes the GTR is quicker cheaper

But at that quick/cheap it's all relative and other factors click in e.g. looks

And I like the idea (even if I am self deluding) of being more of a factor in making it go as quick as it can

The engine mounts are a good idea.

A better one would be to place the engine where it's less affected by PMI.

Sorry, it's a bandaid, so stick the lump in a Cayman and make a decent car.

The GTR is a far better looking car than the Beetle-esque 911 IMO, although I can quite happily accept others will have a different opinion of course.

Whilst I sympathise with the "I want to do the driving, not have the car do it" line, only the very best track/race drivers will be able to extract the full potential of any of these cars, computers in the GTR notwithstanding.

Most of us do not even remotely fall into "the very best track/race drivers" category, no matter how much we secretly like to think so.

It's pretty shameful that Porsche have to charge so much for their cars when Nissan can produce something like the GTR for less than the cost of the most basic 911. Still, if people are prepared to pay, and they clearly are judging by this thread, then who can blame them?

That's why Porsche centres are all-glass; they can see 'em coming!

The new one in Leeds is a huge glass building right on a major route.
Within roughly a square mile you have Porsche, Ferrari, Aston, Bentley,
Massa, Lotus etc. No Nissan yet !

The AM site allways looks dead though.

Did anyone see that program on how Porsche stitched the hedge funds (and took over VW)?

Yes they charge a premium for their cars

But the build quality is proven

It's a nice little beetle

Classic shape
