Went in a lotus elise s2 today

haha, you'd hate my S1 then. It rattles like a b*astard, especially as it now has 'trackday spec' nitrons and the suspension bushes replaced with spherical bearings. Its also even harder to get in and out of due to the higher sills in the S1. I have added some full carpets to the car though (very anti lotus but I did want it to be a nicer place to sit on long journeys)
However this is totally the reason why I swapped from my second s2000 to it. I wanted drama and excitement, but a caterham was too compromised for me. When 'on it' there really is no other car I really feel desperate to have. You're probably aware that when you really concentrate on something everything fades in to the background. At 7/10s or above thats what happens and all the rattles dissapear (and this is what this car is for) and all you are left with is the wonderful steering, an immensely communicative car, brakes that cause passengers to have a mild fit when you brake so late on track days, and a car that changes direction like a fly.
These cars make sense for when you want something a bit silly to just go out and hoon around in, and really make sense when you stick some sticky tyres on and upgrade the dampers and put them on track.
Horses for course and all that
