FWIW you rarely get charged customs on items from Far East.

Plus import duty on top of that - typically around 4.5% for most car stuff, but there's a list of the prevailing rates on the HMR&C website.

I found the list of typical rates but there was nothing close to car parts.

I noted that duty is dependant on the type of goods and the country of origin. I've seen 4.5% mentioned before so perhaps thats typical.

Import VAT can also varey, but as Jel says nearly everything is at the standard rate so i'll use that.

Thanks for the quick responses. I'll go for add 4.5% add 17.5% plus

Phone them up and get them to label the box "Warranty spares" No customs duty on warranty parts as duty was paid on importation of the original part.

Gav, if you can order those parts from Japan in my experience your much less likely to get stung for customs if you order from Japan.

Thanks, good advice. Hoping to have the braces before Rockingham and the K&N FIPK for the summer.
