I was talking to some of the Lotus people I know and indeed there are a few Honda powered Lotus out there. The 1.8T Audi engine also raises its head quite a few times too.

Allegedly the issue is with the MOT. In the space you have you can't fit both a K20A and an exhaust system with a Cat on it. Hence all the MOTs are iffy.

Maybe Mark can shed some light on this as to whether it is or true or I honestly couldn't say

 

Yeah friend of ours said something to do with the number of cats the K20A needs, and not being able to fit it between the rear mounted engine of the Elise, and the rear exhaust.

No idea if thats bollocks or not though!

A guy at work has an S/ced K20A Mk 1 exige. Not slow.
