What is/was/will your next car be?
What is it with me?
The last three cars that I have owned, including the S, I have wanted to keep forever.
They have , apart from the S, given up on me before I have given up on them.
Maybe I have no ambition? Am easily satisfied? Weird? Know my place?

What I would give to be like that!
I have an affliction. It causes sleepless nights. Years of my life have been spent trawling over Pistonheads classifieds, working out what to buy next!

I've had my V8 Vantage for just over six weeks now, and it still is an absolute occasion to get in and drive something that I expect to be the case for a long time to come.
I'll probably run it for 2010 and might change it towards the end of the year, depending on a) how the businesses are going and b) what else is around that might take my fancy at that time.
The only drawback is I now have two cars that only tend to get about 15mpg each if I'm lucky

I still haven't had a drive of my mate's and doubt I will till the weather improves.
I think he's still getting 20odd mpg, the big poof

As for myself, before Christmas I was all set to replace the Legacy with something German, I still intend to eventually but it's on the back burner for a while.
I'd very nearly sold my Caterham in order to replace it with another when the engine went pop. It's sorted now and should be going on Monday but the new plan is to build the next Caterham from scratch, exactly how I want it rather than what's dictated by the factory and the various race series.
I've also got a 320i PBMW racer to play with in the meantime (still haven't driven it
) so with all that going on I think I'll be sticking with the Legacy for the time being, no real hardship
I've got no plans for anything particularly exciting road car wise in the foreseeable future which is a little dull and I do sometimes feel like I'm missing out but that's not really where my heart is these days.
Rich's Aston is lovely - he took me to my wedding service in it. Unfortunately it was only a mile away, raining and new to Rich, so we didn't open it up.
But it's a lovely place to sit, and sounds fantastic.
Oh, and turns heads, lots of heads.
I forgot to say above, having discovered the Lotus too quick for blats round the Dales, I suspect a cheap as chips MX5, 205Gti or Clio 172 might find it's way into the household in time for next summer, just to have something fun for the road....

RichUK is a dastardly swine
He turned up at Mark's wedding when I turned up in the hire car straight from the garage of shame
A Kia Ceed (diesel)
You can imagine that went down well
Bastard

Those Astons are beautiful. Even in questionable white.
Neighbour's mate parks his outside their house, with neighbours black XK convertible & Range Rover. It's an impressive victorian hall, and the overall effect almost makes me feel proud to be British!
Considering all three companies used to make such 10th rate shit...
