Don't mind the Skoda or the Seat or VW. Skoda Kodiaq - 2 kids and 2 dogs - wife likes the elevated seating position. Better than my Ford Kuga!

I was browsing on parkers personal lease deals. Plus - the price you see isnt always what you could be paying - barter. I did. There's a 5 series for £240 a month, 190bhp derv. Mercedes-Benz GLA start at low 200's, if you like that kid of thing.
I was aware of Seat's model revision after visiting their dealers in Warrington. 300 or 310bhp alledgedly the next Cupra, perhaps with 4wd.
The Avant is/was a tempter for me. Loads of space, decent build and we'll equipped. Shame about the image, rep mobile etc.
Or I could buy an 09+ facelift for 6k, due for its 2nd cambelt.
I'm in the same boat as you, I have to commit to something by February. But looking like CTR/S2k/197/something fun as I'm not sure I want the monthly lay out anymore.

With 6 months left on the Golf, the lease market is pretty dire to be honest with little of interest even remotely appealing on cost grounds. However I've been offered a good deal on an XC60 R-design D4 Nav, I've always liked them in the small / semi lux SUV sector, my wife wanted one when we got the copy cat CRV, but cost wise was in a different segment. This deal on offer brings them much closer together, so planning to go and have a look at one.
Has anyone had one? or a D4 in gerenal? My dad has a D5, but it's a 2008 car with decent miles so sounds pretty lumpy, a new motor on a 3 year deal shouldn't suffer the same.
I really don't want a diesel, but seems the sensibly engine in these things (or most SUV to be honest).
Just for the record, I'd rather have my golf, or anything remotely sporty, however, 2 kids, a dog and big tent will need to fit in our car (1 car household). My local ring road that used to offer a little bit of fun, has long been turned into traffic light controlled stop start stretches and sunday morning blasts into the country just don't happen anymore. The reality is, until I can have a second car, purely for fun, my daily needs have changed
So, back the XC60... good bad or indifferent?
It's a £34k car, coming in at a sniff over £10k over 3 years. which is about the same monthlies as my golf all in.

Although the agreement says you can't, you can have first dibs with some finance companies. Trouble is, it would no longer be the low 200s monthly he's paying. It would owe him 23k with that mileage and require a substantial monthly. F&ck dat.

Yes as Toe says I had a 2010 xc60. Never again. In under 24k the clutch packed up (replaced under warranty), then the wheel bearing went, then the power steering rack started to develop play in it so had to be replaced. I noticed the previous owner had to get the MAF sensor changed (another friend who had one had to get this done also outside the warranty which was over £500).
Finally half the driveshaft went on it (clunking and rumbling noises developed) and part of the suspension had a bush in which was startling to de laminate. All under 50k miles. Driveshaft outside warranty and cost a bomb.
so in short a complete pile of crap oh and dross to drive (a boat in the bends).

Swapped to a V40 D4 R Design. Much happier. Goes really well. No good if you need big space though as it's focus sized. 300 ft lb of torque though in a smaller agile car is night and day better (same platform as the focus).
Buying that xc60 really was a mistake though.

That's good to know. We've started thinking about replacing our v50 at some point and the xc60 has crossed my mind.
What about the v60, would that be more like the v40 or more like the xc60 you think?
