Am currently looking at B7 S4 v6 TT Avant - seems to be big enough and new enough and reasonable! Although currently considering an 2005 E55 estate too 10-12k and certainly won't loose money on it!

Isn't the B7 the V8? The V6 is the B8 and is firmly on my radar.

Not that I'd bother, but Harris remapped one to near RS4 pace for £200.

£14k will get you in the lower end of the market.

The E55 has also crossed my radar, just not sure on that model year as looking pretty long in the tooth now, but that's why it's £12k.

I've 5 months left to ponder...

B8 - that's the one - other choices around 10-12k are Mazda 6 Tourer and could* squeeze a VXR Insignia tourer for that too..520d Touring's start appearing too. Then there is the option of keeping my Kuga - it's lost 9k in 2 years! Worth 13k now. Cheap enough to run but not exactly quality.

Mate of mine's had just about every Volvo that doesn't begin with an F and two digits...

The only problem he's had is when a stray fibre on a cam belt ate the plastic casing on a D5 which fell in and lunched the engine.

It's weird other have had so many issues.

Off to test drive an X3 30d M Sport to replace the Forester 2.5XTEn later, XC60 2.4 seems like a bad idea
Any one want a low mileage Forester?

Seems like the cheap xc60 deals are back on - circa £191 with £1750 in on a personal lease...according to Fleetdeals 36 months, 6kmiles.

I'll take a look thanks.

the CRV (if you can stomach the looks) are very cheap at £211 on a 3+23 (5500 over 2 years, 8k miles).

My local dealer says he will beat any broker deal, so could be less still. I know it would be a 'good' car for my needs, buy by god it's dull... and ugly.

262 on a 3+23. about 7k with the fee... it's pretty good, but pretty basic spec.

Skoda superb is pretty compelling at the moment, a lot of car for the money, about 6500 for 2 years.

yeah those CRV's are dull as....something. I do like the Superb the sportline looks good... but the misses is used to the elevated position that CRV, Kuga etc offer.
