Default Yesterday I bought....

...what has now been affectionately christened the "Sick Bucket"!

Since spinning the S2K on track and realising I would be upset if I smacked it into a barrier I've fancied getting a cheap wee track project and always like the look of these wee Sport models! I originally wanted a yellow one to match the S2K but they were pretty rare to come up, and a bit like S2Ks, seemed to demand a premium because of the colour. This one came up locally on marketplace on Saturday morning so went to view it that afternoon, and having slept on it, made an offer yesterday morning and picked it up in the afternoon for about half what I was expecting to have to pay for a yellow one! While the colour isn't really to my taste, I do like the fact it's unusual! Having said that, I might try wrapping it myself further down the line for a laugh - who knows where this project will go....

Current spec includes 4 different brand tyres, none of which I've heard of, and very spongy brakes! Having said that I had hoot yesterday! I've heard people say it's great fun driving slow cars fast (ish), and can completely see what they mean! I could pin it in 2nd and 3rd and not even be doing anything silly lol - the joys of 80 horses!

She's done less than 70K miles and the body seems really solid as far as I can tell, with only a little surface rust in a few areas. She has however got a whine (or two) from somewhere around the gearbox/clutch/driveshaft area which will require investigating but it already feel liberating not being too concerned about funny noises lol! If anything big goes bang I should be able to source second hand bits relatively cheaply, or forget everything I just said about low power being fun and cheap, and go the K-swap route....

Anyway, here is the Sick Bucket in all her glory....

Nowt wrong with a jizz of that vintage as a cheap daily. The colour though, it is a bit hurtful

Haha! We've just bought a 2015 Jazz Si with 22k on the clock for the Mrs. The Si is a hilarious model - blacked out windows, side skirts, fog lamps, chav bumpers and slightly stiffened suspension (no extra power though). The Mrs has nicknamed it Jazzibel.

I'm actually quite impressed with its practicality and apart from an overly light gear knob, it actually isn't too bad to drive.

It wasn't quite 'deceased spec', but it was a one old lady owner who'd stopped driving, so pretty close.

Yeah, it's relatively common, and can be taken to the next level....

I'm not disagreeing at all, but I have to admit, it's kinda growing on me lol!

I reckon it could be on the cusp of looking ok if it had black wheels and was slammed haha

Sounds smart! The Si's are good looking cars!

I took mine for a decent run to get everything fully warmed up and I had a blast! The body roll was a bit disconcerting to start with cos I've used to driving firmer setups but once I realised it wasn't going to tip over, it was great fun chucking it into corners! It's got a much slower steering rack than I'm used to which again felt strange initially, but I soon adjusted. I've ordered 4 new mid-range tyres for it so at least they'll all have tread, and match! Need to order a service kit and when there's a dry spell I'm gonna investigate the brakes cos they're really not very confidence inspiring as they are now!

Yeh the slow rack is slightly odd to start with, agreed.

Well that's a horrible colour OAP pee stained toilet seat or faded white push button phone, I'm not sure? Definitely not S2000 yellow! However it would still look cool with some spoon light blue graphics!

Could make a fun track car once stripped and a bit more poke. Look forward to seeing it progressing.
