I've always meant to get a test drive and see what they're like.

Seem to suffer pretty terminal depreciation.

I suppose the Boxster is the choice of the masses, and there's pretty much a Boxster to suit all pockets, from

You've got three main drawbacks:

1. oversupply of the somewhat duff cooking models hits exclusivity/residuals.

2. It looks like that.

3. Potentially expensive running costs.

It makes quite a convincing case for buying one secondhand, in fact!

Running costs, high VED and high mpg means the car suffers in the used market.

There are a lot of ex-management stock out there at the moment.

The depreciation curve will flatten just as it did on the previous Z3M.

Great value for money.

I prefered the look of the Alpina version, but the lack of a slippy diff put me off.

I've been looking at M roadsters for a while, and have been waiting to see if prices slip any further. As Moff said ex management stock has killed the residuals - the coupe doesn't seem to fair any better than the roadster. Apart from the looks I don't see why the average punter would have a coupe over an M3, and i think that might be one of the issues - the M3 residuals are significantly stronger.

I can't really think of may similar other coupes within the

a 2 year old z4m looks like a lot of car for the money.
keep it for a couple of years and you may get away resaonably lightly on running costs.

as/when i come to selling the S one of these would be an interesting replacement
