It doesn't seen like forced induction rotary engines do that great over the long run, The RX-7 was one of the best sports cars next to the Supra Twin Turbo. Both were rockets and could be modified to outperform just about any other cars including the big V8s.

To me though, the S2000 is more fun because of the convertible top, Honda Reliability, and Great fun to drive. The engine that comes a live at 6000 RPMS that can be gunned to 9,000k is something special.

I would argue about the Gen 3 RX-7 outperforming the S2000 in every category. The S2000 handles the turns much better although maybe a bit more unforgiving the Gen 3 RX-7.

S2000 owners should appreciate the RX-7 for it's unique Turbo Rotary Engine. I forget what the horsepower was on those but they were fast from the start.

My dream car is a S2000 with a V6 VTEC that redlines at 12, 000 RPMs and puts out 400hp +. Now that would be a sports car for all time
