Default Deals Gap accomodations

Hey, i know im a loser and didn't come to the dragon last weekend but i plan on taking the GF up there this weekend. im not taking the bike cos i only have one helmet and honestly i think my ass (and hers) would be tres sore from the ride from Charlotte.

My question is this....seeing as i have never been to the Dragon, what are some good, NICE, not too expensive (or cheap) hotels to stay at up there? also how long a drive are we talking about? im figuring a couple hours. and finally, is there anywhere else up there we aughta check out? sights, roads, sheep...(oh thats when i go by myself)?

thanks yall....

Jameson Inn in Alcoa. There are quite a few other places in Alcoa as well, the Jameson has just become the traditinal favorite.

Or, if you really want a adventure you could stay at the motel in Deal's Gap.

Jameson Inn is our choice for the Dragon events. Here's a link with info:

Also, for something right on the Dragon and pretty romantic, try the Tapoco Lodge.

And lastly. . .try looking at Tail of the Dragon.com here:

How's that for LOVE ?

Kwaalude,

Another option - Our Lexus group is staying at a Microtel in Robbinsville, NC for our Dragon meet in August. About 15 mins from the start of the dragon run. Not fancy, but it's new, clean and decent rates, you can probably even try to get our 10% discount and tell them you're coming up early to check it out .

More info on the lodging tab of our meet site www.lexusdragon.com

Much smaller town than Alcoa, but also a good bit closer to the main drive.
