Autocross School
I tried to register but the format requires some kind of number I dont know anything about? Do I have to be registered on some kind of autocross database or what? I am stock and have never run before so dont know if I can get in in on this?
Sorry I let all these responses go by without chiming in. Glad to see (I think) 2 signed up so far from on here. Instructing at our school last spring was about the most fun I had all year.
The car number isnt really important for the school as there is no official timing, but would be for normal events.
Both the S2000 and Vette are great autocross cars. A stock C5 or C6 Vette is classed in SS, for future reference Cajun. I think you'll have more fun in the S2000 at autocross anyway, haha.

Very cool, thanks brother. My vette is very far from stock and is 472 WHP/ 425 WTQ. Does the power level or upgraded suspension/ brakes/ etc change class? Thanks

Just doing some suspension work, like full coilover kit, changing wheels. . .pretty much any basic bolt ons, would move the Corvette to A Street Prepared, ASP. After that would be SSM (used to be called SM2, Street Mod 2. . .no one knows what SSM stands for now, haha).

There's actually a very good reason SCCA made this change (same for changing STS/STS2 to ST/STS). Having a number in a car's class can be confusing for the people working course, and the people in timing. "Plus one, STS Two Two Two" could either mean a cone on "STS2 22," or on "STS 222."
It's going to take me months to break the habit of calling STS cars STS2 cars, but I think this was a good move.
What items do I need to bring? I have my SNELL approved helmet, I figured tape to tape off wheel wells to stop rock damage, brake fluid to change brake an clutch fluid before and afterand flame proof uniform. I am sure there are alot of things I need but this will be my first autocross experience so need some guidance. I am normally a drag racer but might have to give that up as I keep breaking stuff.
