Default Bent Valve options?

To keep it short for now........I have a bent valve in cylinder 4.. due to water

need help with options.... Hendrick Honda of Charlotte has the car... and they want to break down the engine (380$) and send the head over to the shop and get it tested..( is that really needed??) and then go from there..mo money mo money$$$$

the car was running ok with a little smoke from time to time but it has always smoked a little... and it had a ticking sound that would increase with the revving under load.
What are my options??

just drive the car??
just replace the bent valve without sending in the head for testing...
take the car home take the engine out and send it in to www.ericsracing.com to get a full rebuild .....( don't know all the info on this option but will soon)

any other options??? or engine rebuild places.. recommeded..just want to keep cost down and maybe get a few hp if possible on the rebuild.. up to 3 grand $$$$$

if you need the whole story here it is it rained for 4 days straight.. and car was running just fine the night before... went to start it and it revved up to 3k like usual and then died... I pushed the start button again and floored the gas to just keep it sputtering along then it died completely....

took it to honda they cleaned up the spark plugs.. they said it ran pretty rough at first and it should get better with time.. drove it for a week and it has gotten better but still a little smoke and the clickin..... I preformed a valve adjustment and everything was in spec... sent it back to honda... they cleaned it checked valves..(in spec just wanted to check my work) and they said there was a bad seal on one of the fuel injectors... had that replaced... and then they found the bent valve...

what took them so long....?? why did they give it back to me in the first time with it running so bad?????
were they just stringing me along for more money???

please pm me or tell me who to talk to... need to move fast...

thanks for the help....

If the valve it bent, it needs to be replaced ASAP. If it breaks and drops into the cylinder, you're looking at a new engine. The head will have to come off, replace the bent valve(s). While it's off, have new springs and retainers done on ALL the valves.

Your retainers are probably in bad shape.

Testing the head is probbly a good idea. You may have a change in compression that could lead to new problems down the road.

If you're going to send it to Alaniz, you better be willing to wait for a LONG time. They do great work, butit can take months to get a head back.

if you have a bent valve, there is quite possibly damage to the head/valve seat. I would just take this time to get some head work done (as I see you are doing). I would aso think hard about removing your CAI...

I'm going to do a valve adjustment and am considering replacing the springs and retainers while I'm at it. Will I have to remove the head to do that? (I haven't checked Helms yet.)
