Default Cabin Air Filter

Gang,

Airgate did a similar post a couple of months ago, but I didn't have time to search for it. However, that did stimulate me to order a filter...and I finally had the time to put my new one in, tonight. The old one was amazingly dirty...at 40,000 miles.

So...obviously...you may want to check yours much earlier than that...DUH !!!

Old cabin filter...it's a wonder I could even breathe!

Looks like some healthy Randolph County specimens in there.

Changed mine out a couple months ago, it's amazing how quick it gets dirty.

Yeah...but then again, you should see all the crud on my dash . I mean, with 130K miles now I've come to realize that top-down drivin' = zero "air filtration" in the cabin. My car's a mess

Thanks Ken. I am only at 10,000 miles but I plan to check it at 15K. Good info.

I stongly suggest that you hold off changing your filter until right after pollen season, cause you will just clog it again.

I agree with Dave, there is no air filtration, but the thing needs to be replaced regularly to avoid potential damage to the blower due to restricted airflow, and I would NOT suggest running without one and putting all that crap through the blower & vents.

I'm on the 2 year cycle, and will be changing mine again this year AFTER pollen season.
