Default good place to replace the windshield?

Can anyone recommend a good place to replace my windshield, and how much it costs? My s2000 has a crack about 10 inches long, so I called a couple places, and they told me the only option is to replace the windshield. Oh, I'm in the Raleigh area.

Thanx.

A 10 inch crack definitely needs replacing. My brother replaced mine it was pitted pretty bad. The sun would give off a bad glare in the car.

My brother RICH owns ETC Autoglass in Myrtle Beach, SC. If you were planning on coming down to the meet he would probaly be able to install one for you. I am not exactly sure what the cost to install would be.
If you call ETC @ (843)215-5859 tomorrow after 9am I'll have him give you a price.

If you have another company install it ask for PPG Glass. Its a higher quality replacement window than most auto glass companies use. It has PPG stamped on the center of the lower bottom of the window. Most of the after market glass will fit the S but not as good as PPG does to OEM specs.

I had mine replaced by safelite auto glass. This was in Greenville, SC but they are a national chain. They came to my house and did the swap in my driveway for $237. Let the installer know that he will likely not have a cleat for the rearview mirror and will need to remove and reuse the cleat from the old windshield.

After calling around, found most shops charging around $200 w/o molding, but I found a really good deal of $179.72 including everything and molding with safelit auto glass, and also they come to your house or office. I wanted to go w/ PPG brand, but they said the price will be different, and cannot really tell me the price till I pre-pay it. They lifetime guaranteed their work, so I guess I'll trust them. What do y'all think?

id rather spend the money and get the better glass even though i know nothing about windshields. i know bryan(schighlander) spends all his hours at work researching s2k stuff though hes got me convinced to get the 4.57 gears over the 4.44 now

but anyways...im just going to go with safelite and have them do it at my work or if youd like to come up to birkdale village we can do it there if they'll give us a 2 car discount. my gf has an apartment there. so, you can drop off your car and mommy watch.

Don't go cheap on the windshield get the PPG glass. you'll be happy with it if it's properly installed.
