It is pretty easy to do, all you need is a cordless drill, some blue painters tape and a kit you can purchase from any of the car parts stores. Takes about 1 hour tops if they are real bad.

Several Companies also sell a headlight protectant like this one http://www.autogeek.net/meguiars-hea...rotectant.html

To keep them in good shape.

Just curious how long it last for those that have done this before they start fading again?

Looking into doing it myself unless I can find someone local that is willing. Need to do something, they look horrible lol!

No but Megs and the others usually have pretty go products. Obviously it is only good for after you do the restoration process.

I manage a local shop on Country Club Rd in Winston Salem and have since started offering headlight restorations. If you are interested, let me know when you can stop by and Ill take care of it for you.

Fwiw I've done several headlights with the Crystal View packet that you do by hand, with great success and that last for years (did my S 3-4 years ago, still looks great).

I've also used stuff like Meguiar's Pastic X (sp) with a dremel and some really far gone headlights with success, but you can burn the plastic with a power tool.

The hand kits are easy and at least the CV kit works well and lasts as it has the sealant as well as the sanding and polishing stuff.

2000 grit sandpaper.
wet sand
polish with some decent compound by machine or very hard by hand
seal with a good sealant.

that should make them look brand new.

if you were in Raleigh, id do em for ya pretty cheap.
