How 'bout that..

You talking 'bout ME?
You'll notice I didn't proclaim to BE a Republican. I said that because of my beliefs I RELATE most to the Republican Party. My discussion was purely philosophical.
Your description of me is rote. Stop dehumanizing the other guy and realize they probably want the same things you do and, if you

I have to say that I agree with Ron, very well said.
At the end of the day, there will be people who want to "play the system" and get something for nothing.
My disagreement comes when people who geniunely want to improve their lives can't because of stupid politics. I don't care what side is doing the "politicing", I just care about the end result.
There are many many things that are right, and wrong, with this country - imho it's about fixing or at least improving the "wrong" and adding to the "right". Wrong and right are determined by your own beliefs and moral structures, but growing up around a very diverse group of people and being middle class (but coming from a def. less than middle class background on both sides of the family) - it gives you perspective.
Yes, if I end up being a billionaire, I'll want to keep as much of that $$ as I can. BUT - If I was on the opposite "side of hte tracks" so to speak and had to fight tooth and nail for EVERYTHING, I'd want a government that provided the means for me to get ahead, for me to improve my life.. I think a lot of people "play the system" becuase it's easy and in some cases, there aren't any viable alternatives.
You can't choose what family you're born into, what country you're born to live in, or how much wealth the family you're born into has. Everyone has a differing chance of success at the lottery of life from the OUTSET, no matter what we want. I just think that the government should be able to help those who want to help themselves and imrpove their situation in life.
I'm a topian idealistic sop, and I'm well aware. I do what I can, that's all anyone can ask.
Also, I agree with an "interview" of sorts before you have kids, it sounds silly but srsly, some people just shouldn't be havin' babies!
