Ok, this one isn't bad, don't worry!

I was at physical therapy today, I'm having surgery April 5th *no S for 2 months*, and I parked all the hell way out away from everyone else. Well it just so happens that of all the free spaces in the parking lot a big minivan decides to pull in next to me, well not a mini van like a real real van one of those monster vans, thing looked like the "Myster Machine" from Scooby Doo.

Anywho, out pop about 4000 kids. Now I was already aggitated at the fact that they chose to park next to me and there were atleat 5 free spaces on either side of me. I can see all of this because the table I was laying on was directly in front of a window. I make sure to park where I can watch So I got on the stationary bike and finished up the rest of the pointless crap that physical therapists dream up and head outside.

I notived the van was gone and proceeded to open my door and what do we have here? A dent the size of a quarter in my door. Now I didn't think this was that big of a deal until I drove over to the body shop that we used for other cars.

I get someone out to check the car out. Estimate: 300 bucks. Reason being that this wasnt just any dent. This dent happened to occur directly on the only "line" of the side of the car.....i dont know the technical name for it but its the part that kinda bumps out thats a few inches below the door handle. So this isn't just any dent that can be banged out.

I was wondering if any of you guys/girls know any body within i dunno an hour or so drive that maybe does paintless dent repair, or have any ideas. I'm really not trying to pony up 300 bucks for a damn dent. But if I have to I will.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Whizzy, I recommend you go to the Dent wizard (no pun intended) on Capital Bulevard.

We took my wife's Civic there before we sold it and they took out 1 huge dent about the size of a quarter. There was a lot of paint transfer and it looked pretty hard to get out because the dent was really sharp inwards. Also, the Civic's doors have a nice visible line on them and the dent was right smack in the middle of it (and in the middle of the door).

Total cost $129, no paint work, flawless results.

They also fixed another 10 or so dings on different places. Those were much less visible but visible none the less. We did a little haggling an got the whole thing done for $500 even. It took them 2.5 hours to do it.

Anyway, when you go tell them that Diego Torres (Mention the black 2001 Civic that was fixed in Febuary). They said they would give my friends a good price.

Sorry, i don't have the phone. Didn't keep it as it would be of no use to me here in Sydney

There is also a place out near the Airport. Not sure of the name of the road, think it is westgate. After you turn onto westgate from 70, there is a business park on the right. The name of the place is dent and hail specalists. Someone else on the board went there and thought they did good work. It is worth the trip just to get an estimate.

If he has a dent in the line of the car, the bend of the sheet metal, if you will, he will need a body shop's help. No dent place can get that kind of ding/dent out of the edges.

I am soooo sorry to hear about this. Folks simply don't realize that we love our cars and really don't want them to get hurt. If everyone would simply understand that, this would be a better world. Some folks are purely clueless.

I realize your situation, but I would have walked out to the car and checked it over. People need to be held responsible.

Just from experience w/ my S, I had a ding on the body line under the door mirror, and my shop got it out Leaving only a spot the size of a pen head. Excellent work!!! If you find a good shop they should be able to get it. Even if the center has a small crease, you can prob. still get it out. Its a shame you are so far away! I reccomend Carolina Fix-A-Dent for the Charlotte and west gang. The owner is a great guy,and very 'low cost'. GOOD LUCK~Derick
