that sucks tack..... dayummm cary po po. Sorry to hear that....

I used a PFJ about 5 years ago. Thankfully I kept my record clean for 2years and the ticket was dropped. Tough decision whether to use your prayer for judgement or hire a lawyer to have the charge reduced. Let us know what you decide and the outcome...

Listen to everybody...PJC! It is possible to get one f it's your 1st offense. I have seen it given to individuals doing 30 over the speed limit. BUT, get an attorney and not some cheap skate! You will screw yourself.

Cheers

I have had over 20 speeding tickets. Not one has gone on my record. Get a lawyer then go get the speed tested on your car if it is one mph off then you have improper equipment. If you use your PfJ then when you get your 2nd ticket they both go on your record and that will hurt. The lawyer charged me 300 my 1st ticket then dropped to around 200 after that one being I would stop by to pay one and drop one off. The law loved my yellow mustang is all I can say.

True true... dont speed... easy for you to say, while commanding a 240hp roadaster, is very very temptin to speed, and if I wanted to follow the law, I would've got myself a Honda insight and save me some gas money.

***Get An Attorney***

15 over is a mandatory loss of license in NC! You will have to get this reduced, thrown out, or get a PJC. However, I would not attempt to do this by myself... You can do everything an attorney can, *except* know who to talk to. If your trial lands in the wrong judge's court, the attorney will ask for a continuance, and he will continue to do so until he finds the right person to talk to.

I would recommend using:

Marcus E. Hill
marcushill@mindspring.com
Office: 919-688-1941
or: 919-929-1941

He came well recommended to me from many sources including a Judge. He got my ticket, a 93 in a 65 reduced to "improper equipment" $25 fine, no points. It cost me about $375 including court costs... and as he told me over the phone when I first talked to him... I could have spent that money on a V1, and had something to show for it.

He serves Wake, Orange, and Durham Counties.

Not affiliated with him at all, btw.

hope this helps.

First of all, thanks everybody for your suggestions. Heres what happened. I decided to take another route than those suggested. I contacted a friend in the DAs office. While he was helpful and sympathetic, he said that it was simply too fast to turn into a non-moving type violation. He wrote the ticket down from 82 in a 55 to 64. He said it would not show up on insurance. Fine and fees was $100. I am guessing that if I get another ticket within the next 3 years I cannot use the prayer for judgement He also said that this was my best option, because the judge I had assigned to me would in no way allow me a prayer for judgement at the speed clocked at. The lesson here is to try to get the policemen to write the ticket down from the clocked speed when he issues it.
