Default local-ish source for redline oil??

Anyone have a local source for redline oils. Anywhere in the southeast should work too. I had planned to do a diff/tranny change this weekend and placed my order on 4/12 for the necessary fluids. Unfortunately, the tranny fluid hasn't shipped yet, so I need a new source pretty quick .

Well, here are a couple of places in the Raliegh/Cary area that carry redline oil.

Carolina Mustang Performance on 302 W.Chatham St, Cary 800 - 554 - 4342

Auto Sport Gallery (Just off of old Wake Forest, near Charles & Donna's shop) 919-872-2002
http://www.autosportgallery.com

Advance Auto also carries redline products, but I've only seen motor oil so far.

You might want to check out the redline website for dealers closer to your location.

Good Luck,

Jeff

Yep. All the local Advance Auto stores just carry the motor oil.

I thought that the LE stuff was supposed to be better (by-far-better) than the RedLine brand for our rear differentials. Correct?

Also, out of curiosity. What effect can synthetic oil have on your seals? I heard the LE rep make mention of this, but never thought to ask him.

LE doesn't make a tranny fluid for our cars yet and I'm due for a tranny fluid change.

Synthetic oils are more slippery than mineral oils. You know how most companies recommend to wailt 10k miles or so before switching to synthetic? It's because the synthetics are too slippery to allow the piston rings to seat properly. I received my 24-quart case of LE motor oil today, by the way. At my next oil change, I plan switch to the LE stuff and send off a sample of the Mobil 1 currently in the car for analysis. I'll send a sample of the LE oil off after the subsequent change.
