Default Painted Caliper pics

I finally got my pics uploaded.

First the ingredients:

Legend 5 paint, a two part enamel paint available in a group buy from MPTuningUSA here.

Then the masking. I just used painter's masking tape on the rotors (its the easiest tape to get off).

Then then I mixed 4 teaspoons of paint and one teaspoon of hardener which was more than enough for a first coat on all four calipers. I chose to take the calipers apart and remove the pads. I did NOT disconnect the break lines to avoid having to blead the brakes.

VFROOM came up with an ingenious way to hang the calipers from various suspension parts to help hold them while painting.

Brush on a light first coat. Let dry for at least 4hours. Then apply the second coat. I let the second coat dry a full day before putting the wheels back on.

:voiceofexperience: Use caution when putting on the wheels or you'll scratch the paint :/voice of experience:

VOILA!!

Thanks Tim at MPTuningUSA!

Looking good Mybad! How hard is it to take the calipers off? I have always painted mine with the calipers on and may try painting with them off next time.

Nor hard at all. You'll need an adjustable wrench and a 12mm closed or open end wrench. Just loosen two bolts and you're there.

Its worth the effort.
