DJ asked for these photos of caliper painting from a post almost a year ago.

I jacked the car up and did all four at the same time. I filed and smoothed the calipers before painting. I did not take the brake lines off.

 

Did you do your rotors or no? What kind of paint did you use?

 

Did not do the rotors, too much trouble with low probability of success. I am not aware of a good way to clean the venting and then paint. ( I did paint the outer edge but not the venting. )

Used high temp caliper paint. It is an epoxy type paint with catalyst.

 

Thanks Al... Looks like the filing is definitely worth it. How much time and effort did it take you to do the filing?

 

i used a die grinder and scotch loc pad to smooth mine out first and it turned out very smooth. I have no pics to back this up however. Just though id throw that in.

 

I used just tremclad and it's still looking good.
