Default Raleigh Peoples!

I am meeting my girlfriend in Raleigh this weekend as like a weekend getaway. And wanted to know of some nice places to take her. Such as nice restaurants, cool attractions, and just stuff that are interesting to do. Also what part of Raleigh would be more intruiging to say at, Downtown Raleigh, North Raleigh, Cary, Crabtree Valley, etc.

Thanks alot in advance,

Matt

As far as eating goes I like downtown Raleigh.

Here are a couple of restaurants that I like

http://www.theduckanddumpling.com/
http://www.cafeluna.com/

The Duck and Dumpling and Cafe Luna are both in/near Moore Square where there are also quite a few bars too (Tir Na Nog, Woodys) for drinking and live music on Saturday

Duck & Dumpling is overpriced imo. More presentation than food....

Well thank you both for your input. I'm going to find a hotel in downtown raleigh. And i like the look and the menu/wine list of the cafe luna.

Thanks for the recommendations.

South Glennwood has a bunch of restaurants, clubs, bars, etc you can go to, and you can walk to them all.

This is a good overview of what's where.

My wife loves Bella Monica on Blue ridge/Duraleigh and Edwards Mill.
My friend's Wife's Boss LOVES Cafe Luna, I have never been, but she isnt that impressed.
Glenwood Avenue is a great place to park, eat and walk around.
518 West (at 518 west) is a great italian restaurant that is decently priced. Sushi Blues is good for sushi right there as well.
from there you can grab a drink at bogarts or really anywhere. they convert to a club at night. we also like white collar, not so into the S lounge anymore. definitely NOT the office.

for more relaxed night (jeans type) go to mellow mushroom on glenwood or lillys.
lillys has the best pizza/menu in town. mushroom is great as well, just a limited selection.

There will also be Bud light downtown live this weekend. it is free, and outside. parking is dificult, but this time is Firehouse

starts around 2, goes to 11. come and go as you please. its at moore square, which is right by Cafe Luna (50 ft)

Summary:
Dressy
Bella Monica - Cafe Luna - Bogarts - 518 West

Casual
Mellow Mushroom - Lillys

Activities
BL Downtown Live - Bogarts - White Collar

Let us know more of what you have in mind and we can help narrow it down.

have fun

Dave

forgot to mention, DO NOT get sucked into the hype of fayetteville street.

there is NOTHING there. only 2 places really exist. Yanceys, which is a jazz bar/restaurant (might actually be decent, but they tried to charge us cover for dinner ???) and Big Easy. i would stay on glenwood, but they offer a change of pace for the locals on occasion.

Everyones break down of places to eat was a great help. I think i'm going to take her to a dressy restaurant on friday night like cafe luna (she loves italian food). than to a bar/club in walking distance. then on saturday i didnt know about the concert but definetly going to be stopping in for that, we also wanted to check on the tombs of egypt at the museum. so i'll have to fit that in on saturday sometime or sunday. So i'm glad to say that with all your guys help i have my weekend just about planned out Dave if your in the area this weekend we should meet up on night for a drink or two.
