Not to create confusion, but my initial box was meant to represent the same wiring harness that exists under the dash / behind the removable dash panel. It is *there* that I snip the white/black wire...and it is *there* that I came in contact with Reignman's spliced DJ Cube speed variable sensitivity wire spliced into the white/black wire that continued into the wiring harness.
I feel as though I should remove my post/image for fear it will only confuse others......
w1ngman did this for me and I thought all was fine, but now the top won't close. Only goes half way. I have my S2000 in service right now because the interior is soaked. My Alpine is ruined.
Juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust kidding. I *know* some folks scrolled down just to make sure.
Ok... I went out and took a picture of my rat's nest of wires behind that dash panel. The blue wire is my splice over to the DCI. The black and white wire, I removed from the harness to the top module, as noted by the large circle -- it's the whole pin from the connector that I just taped up.
I think you're saying you totally removed the pin from the harness and left it removed. Is that right?
The harness looks like it has a connector (pin) in it.
That is correct. If I were to unwrap the electrical tape in the big yellow circle, it would reveal the pin that plugs into the "empty connector location".
I'm no electronics expert either, but wouldn't it be possible to cut the wire and add a small toggle switch in-line? That way you could just flip a switch to bring it back to stock?
