could someone tell me what the sales tax on a new nc car is, and also how much the tag's and fee's were on your 04 s2000s..thanks

3% sales tax
$20 tag
$35 for title
$25 for state inspection if you need it

HateME! is correct. Of course, the inspection is about $9.25 and some dealers absorb that into the price of doing business. Or in that "wonderful" documentation fee/administrative fee.

Oh. . .and just in case you are "new" to NC, you'll have yearly taxes on your personal property. Expect somewhere around $150+.

so on a new s2000 how much extra will have to pay after the selling price, i assume about 950 in tax....how much are the admin fees ect total/...my guess tax/tag and fee's ='s around 12-1400?....anyone know for sure,

Yeah, on $33k @ 3% = $990.00

Are you trading anything in? If so, that amount (the difference) would not be taxed.

Ex: You trade a car and the dealer shows you $20k, then you only pay taxes on the remaining balance, $13k which would be $390.

So, with the $33k price at 3% sales tax + Tags ($50) and admin fees ($150 - 250) = $1,240 with an out-the-door price of $34,240.

According to Mecklenburg County...my car is worth $21, 530 and my auto tax is around $280 this year
