Default Top Adjustment - Please Help!

After about five years I finally had the means to obtain a S2000 of my very own. I am now the proud new owner of a very sweet 2004 S2000.

I've owned convertibles before and the latches for the top could be adjusted. Now it seems like the passenger's side might be a hair slack due to the rattle/squeak noises that come from the passenger side of the top.

Can the latch be adjusted? If so how is it done?

Thanks!

There is some degree of adjustment....go to the following s2ki page:

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...atch+adjustment

Better, yet....do a SEARCH under 'top latch adjustment' and see if you can find additional information.

Congrats on the S...you will love it !!!

nathan - the top has always rattled - even when it was new it was like that.

it was never really an issue for me though - because i hardly ever rode around with the top up...

good luck!

Jay - you sold your S? You got a WRX TR? What is the world coming to?

Oh well, maybe we will still see you and Gabby around.

Jay,

I can't believe that you let your sweet S go !

You're, still part of the family...in spirit, anyway...so stay in touch.

Jay,

Good luck with the move to 'Cincy'. You know that you are not going to be too thrilled with the winters up there !!!

Thanks. I definitely will try and make the spring run to the dragon. This is one of those cars that just makes you smile when you drive it.

I fell in love with the car when I first saw it. Not only did I love the color, but you could tell it had really been taken care off. I actually wasn't even looking to buy an S2000. I was looking to get a $3k beater car to drive back and forth to work. It was very impulsive, but so far I think I've made the right decision... I haven't made my first payment yet either

I've been riding around mostly with the top down and the heat on anyway. I followed the link for adjusting the top and plan to give that a try some time this week... thanks for the info and the message link!
