Default Warning about group buy

Hi All,

I just wanted to let the local group know about a concern I have on a group buy. I purchased the S2000 camera mount from MP Tuning.

First off, this item is scuffed everywhere (as are others that purchased it), it doesn't really mount the camera correctly as it doesn't even come with a mount. It is a cheezy item.

The thing that makes me most annoyed about it is the fact that I found it on ebay being sold for less than the group buy price on S2ki.

It is $59.00 with shipping included on S2ki group buy. It is $49.00 + $5.00 shipping on ebay.

Here is the link to the thread and it also has the ebay price:

http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.p...threadid=199714

I am hoping that this community has a policy or implements one that you at least have to sell items on the group buy for the same as your lowest advertised price elsewhere.

I was under the impression that group buys were sold for less...

I bought the same item a few months back for $59. Mine came through un-scratched though. I do agree with you regarding mounting the camera, it is not the greatest design. I am still trying to figure out the best way to install it.

I talked to the moderator of the group buys and he said that the people on group buys are free to sell the items at any price regardless of what they are selling it for elsewhere.

I disagree with this policy but I have done all I can on it so I will just let it go.

I did suggest they remove the description under group buys where it says ITEMS SOLD AT DISCOUNTED PRICE.

4th option there are other camera mounts that Ricks sells for a little over $100.00 if this mount is too cheasy for some members ... its a simple mount that holds up to 2 camcorders

this mount is pretty nice compared to others I have seen ... here is some footage taken by HIRO from the board

Hey Tim, the two pics of the package are the same!

As far as the 'steadyness' of the mount it is my personal impression that any mount that screws onto the secrect compartment cover generates too much vibration (visible on the video) under certain conditions (like at the track).

It is not the mount, it is the secrect compartment cover. It is thin plastic and it does not latch 'super tight' so between the flex of the plastic (due to camera weight) and it not latching tightly .... nuff said.

If you want no vibration at all you should go for the 'conecam' universal mount. You have to be imaginative on the mounting but there are no wholes to drill and there is no visible vibration on the footage.

I am putting a quote from the ones he is selling on ebay. Keep in mind that Tim can modify this ad at any time.

PRICE: $49.00 + $5.00 shipping ($10.00 overseas) (additional screws are $10.00 each or can be found at any camera shop)

The term additional certainly implies that it comes with one otherwise he is misleading customers on ebay.

I have dealt with tim on ebay and found him to be nothing but straight and honest. Hell, his phone number is on the ebay auctions. I spoke to him on the phone when I bought front and rear h badges. He offered to even give me his old s 2000 badges for free when I told him my car had gold ones when I bought it. (I still can't figure out why someone would want gold badges) I find Tim to be a reputable buisness man who is very accessible and very nice to speak with. I'm sure if you had just called him, he would've certainly straightened this out. Don't be so quick to hurt peoples reputation. Give them a chance to work it out first.
