Sorry it's taken me so long to post....been working way too many hours this week. Like MY2KS2K mentioned I had a strange ringing/rattling that I thought had something to do with my alternator but actually ended up being my water pump pulley. There are some photos here...

Water Pump Pulley

It's scary to think what would have happened if it let go. Hope everything works out for you both!

Was that the stock pulley rick? mine was a unorthodox racing pulley that cracked. i wonder if honda has a service bulletin for this. i put my stock pulley back on, but seeing the pics of yours cracked makes me leary of what cause this. ur shipped me a new pulley today so until i figure what contributes to this, i'll leave the stock pulley on. any clues on your end ?

Yes it's the stock pulley. As far as the cause all I can do I speculate. According to KW my water pump pulley is the only one that has ever been reported to fail. They've got hundreds of thousands of miles logged including significant amounts of track miles. However, Kevin at Hondaworks and a handful of S2KI KW owners believe that the adding the SC to the serpentine belt system puts additional stress on the remaining OEM components in that loop. It's beyond my level of expertise. I just recommend everyone checks their pulley periodically.

I don't know if the sc would be the cause because my car isn't sc. i'll bet if the lightning holes were smaller or eliminated, it probably wouldn't crack. just a thought. well thats just something to add to the once a week check your oil list. relieved to know i'm not the only person whose had this happen.
