What will you guys do when?
Ok this is a question I was thinking about this morning on the way to work. When your S gets to old/out dated to be your daily driver(if it is your daily driver)what will you try to look for? Will you look for a new roadster, or a newer S2000? Will you try to keep this one in the family for as long as you can? I guess what I'm getting at is the S is a NOW car, what will happen when it's not? Do you think people will just forget about it, or will people remember it and 10yrs from now still admire the S!
I compare the S2000 to the last gen RX-7s and Supras. 300ZXs and 350Zs I've never included because they are a dime a dozen. Don't even get me started on the RX-8, that car is already forgotten. Z3s will be remembered and I can see them becoming like MGs, Boxsters will crowd junk yards, as will SLKs. Z4s, thats a harder one to guage.

My thoughts also. The S will be a classic. I'd torn with trying to keep it, but have wanted an Elise for so many years now. Not sure if I'll be able to afford both.
My next car will either be the Elise, or a C6. Nothing else currently has my interest.
As long as I am in good health, and can continue to get in and out of the car...which sometimes can be challenging...then I don't see myself getting rid of the S2000. I love the way it looks, drives and handles...and could care less what other people think about my car. After all...it is MY car and not theirs
!
The only other way I could see myself replacing it, would be if it became a total 'money pit'.

I 'intend' to keep the S forever....of course, that's waht I said about my 92 GS-R/ITR, all-trac turbo, 90 Civic Si, and WRX wagon. But honestly, the S is a completely unique car and one I'd like to keep as long as I can. It's not my DD, so I've got a little less to worry about.
As far as a replacement DD (from my 86 Civic Si
), I'm thinking the TSX is high on the list....along with a G35.....we'll see.....that's quite a few years away...

Re: Intense and the TSX as a DD. I get my first and hopefully only S tomorrow.
The TSX os one of the nicest combinatons of luxury, gadets and sport tunung But . . .
I drove the TSX auto, liked it, but I am a card-carrying member of the "real cars have three pedals" society. I waited forever for the local Acura store to get a TSX 6-speed. Drove it and was way disappointed. No low end torque. Had to really buzz it in town to get acceptable traffic manners -- not sport. The S definitely has much more low end (<4000 rpm) punch. IMHO, a DD, especially a lux ride like the TSX should have punch without a lot of effort. Moral, don't overlook the auto trans model -- it is sweet
