Default Winter in Raleigh

Hey,
I've been reading in some the the forums here that the stock tires aren't any good in cold weather. Do most of you here in the Carolinas leave on the stock tires all winter long? It doesn't seem to me that it gets cold enough often enough to be a problem.

What do you think?

I'm almost to 900 miles now, and I love the magic that happens at 6k.

The So2's stiffen in cold weather and aren't as sticky. Even worse, in cold wet weather they loose traction more easily than you can imagine.

Most of us don't change our tires, just our driving style.

Thanks, that's what I expected.

I'll be driving to Wilmington next Friday. I'm just passing through though. I plan on eating a late breakfast at Goody-Goody Omlette House then I head down 17 to Charlston, SC. I know that it's longer than just going by 95, but it should be a better drive.
