I've got two computers right now. My desktop is the newest and it's still 3 years old or so. My laptop is from 1998. Both are running Windows 2000 and both have been very reliable except for times that I break them...or the time my #$%*&@$ ex-girlfriend crashed the internal modem on the laptop when she loaded AOL!!

 

Anyone heard of Alienware? These computers look so cool, but are so expensive..

EVO - I am planning to purchase an Alienware laptop. It will be my first, but I have heard nothing but good things about them.

As for planned obscolesense..... every market has that, from cars to mattresses to computers. It isn't something Microsoft invented.

Also, windowsXP is much much more refined and yes they've been working on it 8 years, but conversly Macintosh has been working on their OS for more than twice as long.

At this level of refinement, it really comes down to personal preference, they are both very powerful now and Mac has really stepped up with OS X, but windows XP is arguably as easy to interface with as Mac ever was.

It's really a matter of whether you want to be gay and self-conscious (Mac), or just have a decent computer (XP)
