Ah, that's better. Anyway, in case you guys are curious, I've decided to contest the ticket in person.
I'm not really sure how I'm going to do this yet. I'll probably just explain that I wasn't abandoning the vehicle and I live a block from there (whatever the officer who wrote the ticket thinks ).
Also, the ticket was written on 1/30, 6:59pm, and I brought it in the following day. That could be something in my favor, I guess...

I'd say, just show up, apologize, don't be wise, and simply admit your vast ignorance, Jack.
That kind of self-deprecation goes a long way with the law. They like making you feel contrite.
