The concentration and solubility of hexavalent chromium depended on the type of welding. Several studies showed that the total chromium concentration in welding fumes was higher in gas metal arc welding (GMAW) than in shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) but hexavalent chromium concentrations were higher in SMAW than in GMAW. Most chromium species in GMAW exist as insoluble trivalent or elemental chromium.

That's nice, Patrick, but the hexavalent chromiun STLC is five parts per million. It has to do with groundwater contamination risk.

Terrible. Mrs. Raptor was sick in bed with the flu for almost two weeks. No Christmas dinner. Cancelled family coming over and spending the night on Christmas. Mrs. R couldn't go to the Rose Bowl. We finally opened presents yesterday.
(It was a great Rose Bowl too.
