I got a pair of Grado SR225i headphones this past weekend. Been using them on and off the past few days with a random 1/4-1/8" adapter I picked up from Radio Shack. The guy said I shouldn't lose any sound quality. Is this true? Since I don't have anything that allows 1/4" connections, I really cannot tell if the quality is unchanged.

Also, there is a slight tizzy/static noise when I listen to some songs. Is this because they are new? I've read these things need to break in, but I don't know what goes along with that.

Any input?

BTW I am mostly playing from my mac or ipod.
