If it's still visible; massage (read: squeeze) it until it pokes out, then go to town with the tweezers.

Otherwise, your other options are to suck it up and suffer, or get out a pocket knife and a lighter.

use a very sharp razor blade. cut to expose the whole thing then lift it w the blade. thats what i do. least pain full most effective.
