Sorry - the sharp razor blade part got to me for a minute. 
I just sterilize a needle with rubbing alcohol and dig the bish out. Start at the end closest to the skin's surface and break the skin with the needle until you can get hold of it with tweezers. Try not to break the splinter.
Sterilize the wound upon completion.

Grab a #2 or #1 guard, and trim to that level first, and see how that works for you.
